High end, Military grade Coil and Capstan Style Variable Inductor. Operation similar to Collins 180L-1 antenna tuner's inductor which is used in the Bliss Match Master. Silver plated beryllium copper band is wound from insulated core to silver plated shorting capstan core. The difference between this type of variable inductor and a "roller inductor" is that there are no unused windings hanging in the circuit like you have on the back side of a roller coil. The unused windings all short out to the silver drum, presenting a perfect coil to the RF circuit. In a balanced tuner, you will need two of these coils and they should be driven together, in tandem, with a timing belt to a gear motor.Add a vacuum cap that we can also help with and an enclosure, gear motors (https://www.surplussales.com/Motors/Motors-1.html) and misc parts and you will have one heck of a tuner. Granted the 150µH is excessive for wire Vee antennas in the ham bands but this was originally designed for a mobile whip requiring mucho inductance. Factory power rating is 150 watts but I will add the ribbon is larger than the one used in the Collins 180S-1.
