Product Details: Believe it or not, this TA-1 handheld ringer generator is a spare part for Patriot and Howitzer Missle Systems. So states the military nomenclature. 1990's vintage. May be hand charger for bomb detonator in which case a capacitor is charged with a few cranks, enough voltage for the blast cap. Push on the spring loaded arm and enough voltage is created to ring a telephone for a second or two. In the top image you can see the magneto, sandwiched in ferrite / laminated core, centered between two coils.
